Last week our CPI employees gathered at our headquarters in Munich to spend some time on developing our strategy for the rest of the year, as well as our company mission and vision!
Colleagues from Frankfurt and Berlin were able to join us, and it’s always a great time getting to reconnect, face-to-face.
On the first day, our founders Katharina and Robin gave us an update on various topics. We even got a sneak peak of our new website that is now live! With all the sitting we were doing, we then had an active break that included dancing and some stretching to liven things up 😉 Little did we know that this was only a mere warm-up to our day 2 itinerary.
Afterwards, we channeled our childlike creativity with a workshop to spark the development of our company’s mission and vision. This was complete with Lego-building and collage making. Creativity definitely flows when you gather brilliant minds together in one room and are under a bit of time pressure!

We finished the day off with a lovely BBQ – complete with some delicious food, refreshing beverages, great convo, and a lot of sunshine!

Day 2 included a day-excursion from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a scenic town nestled in the German Alps. For many colleagues it was their first time in this region, and it did not disappoint!
Our first stop was at a restaurant in Wamberg, one of the highest-located villages in Germany. With a population of about 30 people, we almost doubled that momentarily 😀 We enjoyed the tasty food (vegan options included!), and it gave us a chance to cool off. No trip to a German alm (mountain pasture) would be complete without Kaiserschmarrn, a traditional dessert that is a sweet, chopped pancake with apple compote for dipping.

After lunch, we went onwards to the Partnachklamm. This is a scenic gorge that transports you into another world! It took a bit over 2 hours of hiking to get there but was worth the work. On our way over, our colleagues shared some good laughs recalling that Katharina had planned this day and told us all “It’s just a walk”. Lesson learned – don’t underestimate an Austrian in the alps!

Jokes aside, it was an incredible 2 days of learning, sharing, and spending quality time with one another. In this post-social distancing era, we can definitely appreciate the value of getting to close our laptops and speak to each other in person – if only for a bit!
